I had to put the True Blood series on hold again so that I can read this book before I see the play this Saturday. I can't wait to go!
I just started it and I was surprised at how adult the book is. Since it's a spin off from The Wizard of Oz, I thought it'd be a kids book. But definately not! It's the Wicked Witch of the West's side of the story and how she grew up to be the witch she is today.
So far it's pretty interesting. The writing may be a little hard to follow at first because it is written in an old fashion style, but you get used to it pretty fast.
I'll let ya know what I think when I'm done!
Update: 5/6/09 Didn't finish it before the musical but it didn't really matter because the musical is WAY different from the book. Still reading though...
I LOVED THE MUSICAL!

Dead To The World by Charlaine Harris
Okay, I'm back to my Sookie Stackhouse series!
Just finished and I though this was a good one. No Bill in this one either which I was okay with because Sookie had an interesting time with Eric. I like Eric a lot better when he has no memorie of who he is....much better!
Plus what happens to Sookie's brother makes me excited to start the next book to see what happens to him!

Club Dead by Charlaine Harris
Just finished! I really liked this one, definately better than Living Dead In Dallas.
This book reminded me so much of the 2nd book in the Twilight series. You know the one where Edward leaves for the whole book and Bella spends all her time with Jacob? Yep, pretty close to the same plot line here...
...hmmmmm...

Living Dead in Dallas by Charlaine Harris

So this is the 2nd book in the "True Blood" series, it didn't keep my attention as much as the first one. Is it possible I like the first book better because I liked the cover of the 1st book better? The cover of this book totally throws you off to what's inside and I'm sorry to say that I DO judge a book by it's cover.

Dead Until Dawn by Charlaine Harris
So because I am a Twilight fan I wanted to read these vampire books by Charlaine Harris to see how they compare to Stephanie Meyers books. These books were written before Meyer ever wrote the Twilight series so I can't help but think she pretty much stole her vampire ideas from Harris, or at least she was inspired by Harris.
Harris' books are like an R-rated version of Twilight. For everyone that was frustrated over Bella and Edward's non physical relationship, Dead Until Dawn is for you! This book is only for adults because of the sexual content!
In Harris' books, the girl falls in love with the vampire just like in Twilight, but the girl is the one who can read minds instead of the vampire. And since the girl, Sooki, is the one who reads minds she can't read the mind of her vampire, Bill.
Yep, Bill the vampire!
I did like this book and thought it was interesting because the vampires were supposed to be accepted by humans now because of the invention of synthetic blood. So since the Vampire's don't have to kill humans to survive, they have been able to live in the same society as humans.
I've decided to continue reading the series, the next one is "Living Dead in Dallas" so we'll see if they keep my interest.

Sisters of Misery by Megan Kelley Hall
A spooky story, great for a Halloween read! It took me a while to really get into it, but once I did I had to finish it.
